Maine Heritage & World Value
Outdoors, Birding and Emergency Preparedness
At Byer of Maine, we are committed to providing products of enduring comfort and value. Whether comfort is measured by blissful time in a hammock, the relief of a cot in a shelter after a hurricane or the security of a safe home for a pair of nesting chickadees, we want our product to perform well for the intended use. We source our products from far corners of the world.

How did we get our start?
Byer of Maine began as a maker of slippers and textile products. We continued refining our stitching operations while branching out to wooden cot production. During WWII, we were called upon to supply troops with a place to lay their heads. We also doubled our efforts to cut and sew canvas supplies for the war effort. In the 1950’s, the company’s focus returned to consumer products.
What do we offer you today?
From cots for camping, hammocks, wood folding furniture, hanging chairs for indoor and outdoor, to birding supplies, Byer of Maine has something for you.
